Case Study 6 - Determining the business case for and implementing an e-commerce solution into an Insurance business.
Background
Businesses require to be aware of all of the distribution channel for their products. Our client is already selling in many of the traditional channels but had no foothold in the e-commerce marketplace. A change in the senior executive team had redefined the business but were cautious to evaluate whether any move into this market would make money and was of an acceptable risk.
Approach
Greig Ross associates discussed the different e-commerce approaches and came up with an innovative marketing proposition. By working with established partners there was a opportunity to leverage business by using a network of e-commerce sites. The client test marketed the proposition with partners and a picture emerged of the level of business that could be expected. Greig Ross Associates approached three suppliers to propose a solution and following a clear winner, which was used as part of the business case authorisation process, the solution was developed partly offshore and partly onshore.
The Result
The client has a successful business solution which follows quite closely the planned business model.
